Doo Handstands - 8 week Gravity Surfing course with Bex Bridgford

Time: 7.30-8.30pm

Level: complete beginners and improvers with a yoga practice already in place.

Begin or continue your journey towards handstands, forearm balance and arm balances. Doo Handstands is for anyone wanting to achieve their first handstand, arm balances or for those who want to have more time to advance their inversion practice (with lots of fun variations) these will include handstand splits, forearm straddle, pigeon against the wall and twisting scissors to name just a few! You will learn how to incorporate your handstands into a Forrest yoga practice (no previous experience of Forrest yoga required).

This 8 week course is designed to ensure a safe and fun approach to these fun but also for some, the fearasanas.

Find out why inversions and arm balances are not just for a instagram. It will bring a whole new dimension to your practice, progression and commitment rather like a relationship. Literally turning your world around gives you a chance of a new perspective, great for overthinkers, helps elevate your mood and to top it off can reverse the effects of gravity.

Bex has always been a handstand lover but since studying Forrest yoga sees the truebeauty and benefits in bringing them and combining them into each yoga class. Add some fun into your practice and your life and offer yourself a new challenge.

Each week our session will be begin with warm ups and handstand HIT drills to develop the key factors of these poses. Building arm strength, shoulder stabilisation, joint mobility and core strength will be the foundations for our Forrest yoga practice.

Bex will hold your hand and guide you to find your handstand style, with lots of variations to build your confidence and practice. You will also learn how to “spot” and support each other in these poses to help build your balance and get your entire body working as a unit.
